Insurancewide.com and Hastings Direct have teamed up to create a novel new aggregator with an old brand: Peoples Choice. The aggregator will run on a not-for-profit basis, donating GBP10 per policy to charity. While there are risks inherent to launching the business, the altruistic aspect of the site will give the company important competitive advantages in the crowded insurance aggregator market.
Oxfam has opened an upmarket gentleman's boutique in Mayfair, central London. The shop took GBP3,000 on its opening day, and Oxfam is hoping that the concept can be rolled out across the country to stop the devastating effect that discount clothes retailers are having on charity retail.
