Cash rich companies to boost express and logistics M&A activity

The decline in worldwide industrial output through 2008 and Q1 2009, caused by the economic crisis, has had a negative effect on M&A activity in the express and logistics industry. The sector saw a lower number of deals and a smaller average deal value in Q1 2009 compared with Q1 and Q4 2008, but deal activity is likely to pick up in the rest of the year, driven by cash-rich companies.
