Sonera: 3G network up, but no phones

The Finnish telco has a fully operational network, meeting its license conditions. Unfortunately, nobody will be able to use it for several months. Sonera is not the only mobile operator to be hit by the lack of 3G handsets (especially dual band models). Indeed, this shortage looks likely to be a major factor limiting early uptake of 3G services.

St1: shaking up the Scandinavian service station market

St1 has revived competition in the Scandinavian service station market with the acquisition of 198 sites. By the end of 2009 Datamonitor predicts that St1 will have a 6% volume share in Sweden and a 4% volume share in Norway, but making further inroads will be tough.
