Unfounded fears for UK gas security - storage is not the only answer

Recent UK gas price spikes largely reflected high demand resulting from cold weather. Datamonitor agrees with the DECC's and Ofgem's opinion that the UK gas market is functioning well and has adequate import and storage capacity. Clearly supply must be available to meet demand, but investment in gas storage capacity is just one solution to the problem.
