Several large companies, including USAir, MetLife and Sears, have recently closed down several of their call centers in the US. This trend is expected to continue as more US call centers move to less expensive regions in Canada or other countries. The Canadian call centers market should benefit from this; with the number of call centers in the country grow at a rate of 5.3% between 2001-07.
