Credit Suisse Group has appointed Doug Cliggott as its US equity strategist, who will be based in Boston in 2010 after working in New York for the balance of 2009.
In the new role, Mr Cliggott will be responsible for determining and communicating Credit Suisse's recommendations for US equity strategy within the equity research department.
Mr Cliggott joins Credit Suisse after serving as chief investment officer at Dover Management in Greenwich. Prior to that, he was an economist and strategist for the Zenit Fund, a long/short global equity fund at Brummer & Partners in New York.
Lara Warner, head of the US equity research department, said: "We are delighted that Doug has accepted the key position of US equity strategist. He has developed an industry-leading reputation over his 23-year career on Wall Street as a strategist on the buy-side and sell-side. His focus on the marriage of both macro and bottoms-up sector-based analyses will be a powerful complement to our already strong US research and equities franchise."
