India soft drinks: solid growth to 2006

With strong economic growth, political stability, a growing middle class and a population of over a billion, India is one of Asia's key growth markets. Sales of soft drinks are expected to climb from $1.26 billion in 2002 to $1.46 billion in 2006. Carbonated drinks are the market's mainstay, but the real growth is elsewhere: sales of bottled water and juices are currently growing around twice as fast as sales of carbonates.
