Although 'deodorizers & air fresheners' was the leading category in new household good launches from August to October 2005, Productscan Online reports that there were significantly fewer new product launches in this category than the same period the year before. The second largest category, cleaners & disinfectants, has however seen a substantial increase in new launches, rising by more than 80% from the same timeframe in 2004. Lower down the table, the paper towels & napkins category has experienced a dramatic surge in popularity, with new launches in this category rising by more than 400%.
