Terremark Worldwide, a provider of managed IT infrastructure services, has appointed Marvin Wheeler as its new chief strategy officer. In addition, Nelson Fonseca has been named the company's COO. These management changes will become effective November 15, 2009.

In this new role, Mr Wheeler's primary responsibilities will include leading the ongoing development of Terremark's corporate strategy and identifying key opportunities to drive continued growth for the company, including potential acquisitions.

During his eight years at the company, Fonseca has held various key management positions including president of Terremark's public sector business unit, senior vice president of sales for Terremark Federal Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Terremark Worldwide, and vice president of commercial sales.

Manuel Medina, Terremark's chairman and CEO, said: "Marvin's vast experience and deep understanding of our dynamic industry, combined with his proven track record of success, will help us develop strategic alliances with key partners and capitalize on various opportunities to extend our successful growth trajectory."
