BMW Group H1 sales increase

The BMW Group has reported that the sales of its BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce brand vehicles increased 4.7% to 764,874 units in the period from January 2008 to June 2008, compared to 730,285 units in the same period of 2007.

The global sales slipped 2.8% in the month of June 2008 to 146,138 units from 150,308 units in June 2007. Deliveries of the BMW brand increased 2.4% to 637,569 units in the first half of 2008, compared to 622,415 units in the same period of 2007.

The Mini brand sales increased 17.9% in the first half of 2008 to 126,810 vehicles, compared to 107,576 vehicles in the same period of 2007, while in June 2008, sales increased 8.8% to 24,448 vehicles from 22,465 vehicles in June 2007.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars delivered 495 automobiles to its customers in the first six months 0f 2008, an increase of 68.4%, compared to 294 automobiles in the same period of 2007. In June 2008, the sales increased 56.% to 114 vehicles, compared to 73 vehicles in June 2007.
